Dr. Darla S. Barrow

Dr. Barrow is a native of Logan County and a graduate of Logan County High School. After completing her studies at Murray State University in biology and chemistry, she was accepted at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis TN. She graduated in 1998 and was awarded membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. In October of 1998 she opened her practice Barrow Eye Center, PLC in Russellville Ky. Dr. Barrow was awarded the Kentucky Young Optometrist of the Year 2000 to 2001 and served on the Kentucky Optometric Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2007. She currently is a member of the Logan County Health Board and is the treasurer for the Kentucky Eye Care Alliance. She is an active member of New Friendship Baptist Church in Auburn Ky and is married to Jon Barrow with two children Macon and Chaney.  

  Dr. Amanda S. Higdon

Dr. Amanda Higdon is a native of Grayson county and a 1998 graduate of Grayson County High School. She graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree. After graduating from the University of Lousiville she attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis TN. As a student she was awarded outstanding clinician her fourth year and received membership into the Golden Key Honor Society. Since her graduation in 2007 Dr. Higdon has been working at Barrow Eye Center. She is a memer of the AOA and currently serves as the KOA Trustee for central Kentucky. Dr. Higdon and her husband Dr. Justin Wilkins reside in Franklin, Ky. 

  Jon Barrow 

Jon is a native of Logan County and a graduate of Logan County High school. Prior to opening Barrow Eye Center with wife Darla, he attended Western Kentucky University for his Bachelors of Science and the University of Florida for a Masters of Science Degree. Jon is responsible for the day to day operations of Barrow Eye Center.

  Erica Coursey CPO                                     

Erica is a native of Logan County and has been at Barrow Eye Center since February of 2008. She also has three and a half years experience working for a former optometrist. Erica is a Certified Paraoptometric and has an associates degree from Western Kentucky University in Applied Science. She primarily works in the lab and helps patients in selecting their eyewear, and also assists the optometrist when needed. When not at work Erica enjoys spending time with her husband, Bryan, and her daughter, Alexis.

   Wendy Whitson CPO

Wendy is a native of Logan County and has been at Barrow Eye Center since 1999. Wendy received her paraoptometric certification in 2004 and continues her education yearly. Her primary job is working up patients, assisting the doctors, and performing tests. When not at work Wendy enjoys church activities and spending time with her husband Greg and their two children, Mallory and Warren Michael. 

  Jeanie Danks CPO

Jeanie has been with Barrow Eye Center since 2003 and has been a Certified Paraoptometric since 2004. She works in the lab and with the patients selecting the proper eyewear and in choosing lens options that best fit the patients prescription needs. Jeanie is a native of Muhlenburg County and has lived in Logan County for thirty four years with her husband David. She enjoys spending time with her familiy when not at work. Jeanie and David have two children and their families. Zak, Elizabeth, and Lucy Danks and Jennie, Corey and Blaine Holley.  

  Jill Vaught

Jill is a native of Muhlenburg county, but now calls Logan County home. She began working at Barrow Eye Center in May 2010 and has 11 years experience in an optometrist office. Her primary responsibility is in the lab but is also well trained in patient care and testing. Jill is married to Larry Vaught and has three grown children. When not working Jill enjoys reading and needlework.  

  Shelley Hines

Shelley is a native of Logan County and joined the Barrow Eye Center team in 2009. She is a graduate of Logan County HIgh School and also has an Associate Degree in medical billing and coding. She works in the front office of the practice and assists patients with checking in and out, along with checking insurance benefits. Her previous work experience consist of health care credentialing and serving as an administrative assistant for a CPA firm. Shelley has been married for over 12 years and has two children. 

  Janet Wright

Janet has been working at Barrow Eye Center since August 2009 as a receptionist. She has over ten years of work experience in caring for patients, which involves nursing homes, hospital, and doctor's office facilities. She is a graduate of Logan County High School and attended Hopkinsville Community College and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree. She has been married to her husband Wesley for seven years and has one child Weston. She has always lived in Logan County and loves working in her hometown. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending church, traveling, and shopping.  

  Brianna Cole

Brianna is responsible for the insurance billing at Barrow Eye Center. She has been at Barrow Eye Center since August 2009 and has two and half years previous experience in Medical Billing. Brianna is a graduate of Logan County High School and Western Kentucky University with an associates degree in Healthcare Information Management. When not at work Brianna enjoys spending time with her family and her husband, Justin.
